University Ave SE/4th St SE Protected Bike Lanes Project: Where Are We Now?

The stakeholder group for the University Ave SE/4th St SE protected bike lanes plan met earlier this week and discussed where the project currently stands and what the next steps will be. The most recent update is the decision to move the current informal stakeholder group to become the main group for the City and County. We discussed who to invite to be part of this group and how the future work of the group would be formatted.

Friday: International Winter Bike to Work Day

This Friday, February 10th, is International Winter Bike to Work Day! We hope that even if you aren’t a winter rider, you’ll dig out your bike from your basement and ride since the temperature is forecasted to be 46 degrees, with a low of 32. If you’ve been wanting to try winter riding, this can be your chance!

Pedestrian Work Group Moves Forward

Exciting new priorities are beginning to take shape with the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition’s new Pedestrian Work Group. The group continues to welcome new members and build upon themes identified in previous meetings to hone an agenda for the coming year. Through reviewing the priorities discussed at the last meeting as well as introducing city-wide street overhaul projects, group members had a chance to take in the range of options at hand.
