Seven reasons why the test closure of 29th Avenue at the Midtown Greenway should become permanent

After a test closure of 29th Avenue at the Midtown Greenway that has been in place for a year, the City of Minneapolis is proposing to turn the closure into a ‘half closure’ on a long-term basis. The City’s proposal is to open 29th Avenue to northbound traffic, bringing more traffic back to a key route for people biking and walking to Seward Montessori School.

Grand Opening- Temporary North Minneapolis Greenway!

Temporary North Minneapolis Greenway

This summer, you will be able to experience a temporary "pop-up" demonstration of what the Greenway concept could look like in North Minneapolis.  Starting June 1, a temporary greenway will be installed on the 3000-3500 blocks of Irving Ave N.  Current plans call for the temporary greenway to be in place for a year so the community can assess interest in a permanent greenway.

For more information on the Northside Greenway, check out our blog or go to the City website.

The temporary greenway provides a unique and exciting opportunity to engage the community around the pop up greenway, and what their reactions are to the concept.  There are information sessions, grants for individuals wanting to do engagement, installation activities, and a GRAND opening.  Please read further for more information!
